關于too…to…句中的不定式用主動表被動

在too…to…句式中，若句子主語與其后不定式為to do sth被動關系，則該不定式通常用主動形式表示被動意義。如：

The text is too difficult to understand. 這課文太難了，理解不了。

This problem is too difficult to solve. 這個問題太難，無法解決。

事實上，這類句子中不定式用主動式表示被動意義，更多是因為形容詞difficult的原因（如說：The text is difficult to understand. 不說：The text is difficult to be understood.），如果換用其他形容詞，則也可能用被動式。如：

The writing is too faint to read [to be read]. 這筆跡太模糊，看不清。

事實上，在某些特別強調被動意義的語境中，可能用被動式更恰當。如：

He spoke in a voice too low to be heard. 他說話的聲音太低，聽不見。

He is too young to be sent to America for advanced study. 他太年輕，不能送到美國去深造。
