三、during which 與during which time的異同

during which修飾主句中表“時間、時期、階段”等的詞（組），而during which time修飾整個句子，在非限制性定語從句中它們的側(cè)重點也有所不同。請看金山詞霸上的兩個例句：

A year passed, during which the scarecrow turned philosopher. 一年過后, 稻草人變成了哲學家。
說明：定語從句修飾a year這個詞。

Half an hour passed, during which time the ark had been slowly stealing over the water. 半小時過去了，這時船在湖面上無聲無息地緩緩滑行。

說明：定語從句修飾Half an hour passed整個句子。

再請看“2010年江西省名校高考信息卷（一）”的單項選擇題的第25小題：

25. They stayed with me three weeks, ____ they drank all the beer I had.

A. for which    B. which time    C. during which time    D. during which

答案是Ｃ。

說明：其實，這道題不應(yīng)將during which和during which time同時列入選擇項，D選項也是對的，修飾對象變成了three weeks，但意義略有差別。所以，嚴格地說，這道題的命題還是不夠嚴謹?shù)�。�?/SPAN>2005年高考英語（重慶卷）就很好地避免了during which和during which time兩個選項同時出現(xiàn)的情況。如：

Mark was a student at this university from 1999 to 2003, ______ he studied very hard and was made Chairman of the Students’ Union. （答案是A）

A. during which time   B. for which time   C. during whose time   D. by that time

▲綜上所述，during which和during which time在用于非限制性定語從句時，它們在意義表達上和側(cè)重點上還是有所不同的。
