hospital前冠詞的有無問題

1. 表示“住院”“進醫院”“出院”等與住院治病有關的用法，在英國英語中不用冠詞，而在美國英語中可用冠詞。如：

He was rushed to (the) hospital by ambulance. 他被救護車迅速送到了醫院。

The injured were taken to (the) hospital. 受傷的人都送進了醫院。

He’s been in (the) hospital since his accident. 他從發生事故之后，一直在醫院里。

By the time he was taken to (the) hospital he was nearly dead. 他被送到醫院時已經幾乎不行了。

注意，不要將“住院”直譯為 live in (the) hospital。

2. 若不是表示與“住院”有關的用法，則無論是在美國英語還是在英國英語中都必須要有冠詞。如：

我去醫院看望我兄弟。

誤：I went to hospital to see my brother.

正：I went to the hospital to see my brother.
