諸如website, online, download, file, access這樣的詞匯你熟悉嗎？假若它們出現在聽力材料中你能聽懂嗎？如果不熟悉，你就 out 了！下面這段文字摘自2010年湖北高考英語聽力考試的最后一段材料，其中就出現了不少像上面提到的計算機詞匯：

Hello, my name is John Williams. I am an English teacher, and I have started a website to help you improve English listening and speaking skills as quickly as possible. My online English lessons take just 5-10 minutes each day to complete. And there are no advertisements to take your attention away. You can also download the sound files to your computer and access them and take your lessons again any time. I’ve designed the online English course to be a very easy, cheap and quick way to improve your English speaking, listening and conversation skills, and also to improve your listening scores in English exams.

Every day, you’ll learn some new English vocabulary, idioms and phrasal verbs. And you will feel more confident in working and making friends in English. You also learn correct English pronunciation.

I always make sure my online English lessons are short, interesting and easy to remember. My idea of learning English is that it is best for you to learn a little each day and remember it clearly. This idea doesn’t mean a new method, but instead, it is a concept I hope you can accept. 其中的一道聽力測試題是這樣的（答案是A）：

How can a learner take the lessons when he is not online?

A. By using the downloaded sound files.

B. By making conversations with others.

C. By reviewing words, phrases and idioms.

除了聽力外，其他的題型，如單項填空、完形填空、閱讀理解、書面表達等，更是經常涉及計算機方面的詞匯，這其中有些詞匯是屬于計算機專用詞匯（如modem, reboot等），而有些詞匯則是普通詞匯引申出了專用于計算機的新詞義（如click, save等），但遺憾的是，這些詞匯我們在一般的中學英語詞典中很難查到，有些詞匯就是在《牛津高階英漢雙解詞典》第四版也查不到，因為這些詞匯太“新”了，有好多詞典都還來不及收錄，但它們卻已經出現在我們的高考試題中了。為幫助同學們搞好這類詞匯的復習，我們特查閱了最新出版的《牛津高階英漢雙解詞典》第六版和《朗文當代高級英語詞典》第四版，對涉及計算機的一些常用詞匯進行了一次全面的整理和歸納，希望對大家的學習有所幫助。

1. access

access 本是名詞，意思是“接近”“進入”“通道”等。如：

The village is easy (difficult) of access. 到那個村子的路很容易(很難)走。

Only high officials had access to the president. 只有高級官員才可以接近總統。

The only access to their house is along that narrow road. 只有沿著那條狹窄的路走才能到達他們的房子。

但現在access也可用作動詞，表示“存取(計算機文件)”。如：

The files were accessed every day to keep them up to date. 文件每日存取，使之不斷更新。

2. button

button 本指衣服的“鈕扣”，或是門鈴或電器開關的“按鈕”，在計算機語言中指“按鍵”。如：

Click on the left mouse button. 單擊鼠標左鍵。

Choose “printer” from the menu and click with the right mouse button. 從菜單上選取“打印機”，然后點擊鼠標右鍵。
