34. Look out.

用來提出警告(有時可在其后加介詞for短語)，意為：當心；小心。如：

Look out! There’s danger ahead. 注意! 前面有危險。

Look out. You’re taking the skin off. 當心，別把皮擦掉了。

Look out when you’re crossing the road! 過馬路時要小心。

35. I can manage.

通常用來委婉拒絕對方主動提供的幫助，意為：意為：我能行；我能應付；我可以應付得了。如：

A：Do you need any help with these heavy bag? 你需要幫忙提這些沉重的袋子嗎?

B：No, thanks, I can manage. 不用了，謝謝，我能行。

36. It doesn’t matter.

(1) 用來回答道歉，意為：沒關系。如：

A：I’m sorry I’m late. 對不起，我遲到了。

B：It doesn’t matter this time. But come to school earlier next time. 這次沒關系，但下次上學要來早點。

(2) 表示某事或某情況不是很重要或抱無所謂的態度，意為：不要緊；沒關系；不礙事；無所謂；隨便。如：

A：I’ve got only one left. 我只剩下一個了。

B：It doesn’t matter. I’ll give you some more. 沒關系，我再給你一些。

37. Me too.

表示與前面提到的情況一樣，意為：我也是；我也如此。如：

A：I’ve read the book. 我讀過這本書。

B：Me too. It’s interesting, isn’t it? 我也讀過，很有趣，是吧?

38. I didn’t mean it.

表示不是故意的(尤其用于認錯或道歉)，意為：我不是故意的；我不是有心的。如：

Forgive me please. I didn’t mean it. 請原諒，我不是有意的。

有時也說：I didn’t mean to. 如：

I’m sorry I hurt you；I didn’t mean to. 對不起我弄傷你了，但我不是有意的。

39. By all means.

(1) 表示同意或許可，意為：可以；行；沒問題。如：

A：May I borrow your dictionary? 我可以用你的字典嗎?

B：By all means. 當然可以。

(2) 表示請求或意愿，意為：一定要；千萬要；務必。如：

By all means I must visit my sick friend. 我一定得去看看我生病的朋友。

40. By no means.

表示否定(語氣較強)，意為：當然不行；絕不是；絕不可以。如：

A：Can I leave now? 現在我可以離開了嗎?

B：By no means. 絕不可以。

A：You haven’t lost heart, then? 那么你還沒灰心?

B：By no means. 絕對沒有。

41. Don’t mention it.

(1) 用來回答感謝或類似于感謝的句子，意為：不用謝；不客氣；不要這樣說；哪里哪里。如：

A：The film was wonderful. Thank you for inviting me. 這電影很精彩，謝謝你邀請了我。

B：Don’t mention it. I’m glad you enjoyed it. 別客氣，你喜歡就好了。

(2) 用來回答道歉，意為：沒關系；不要這樣說。如：

A：I apologize for what I said. 對不起，我說錯了。

B：Don’t mention it. 沒關系。

42. Never mind.

(1) 表示安慰，意為：別著急；不要緊；沒關系。如：

A：We’ve missed the train! 我們錯過火車了。

B：Never mind, there’ll be another in ten minutes. 不要緊，過十分鐘又有一趟。

(2) 用來謝絕別人的提供，意為：不用啦；別費事啦。如：

A：Can I help you with it? 要我幫你做這事嗎?

B：Never mind. 別費心啦。

(3) 用來回答道歉，意為：沒關系；沒什么。如：

A：I’m sorry I’ve spilt some tea on the table-cloth. 對不起，我把茶灑在桌布上了。

B：Never mind, it will wash out. 沒關系，洗得掉的。

(4) 用來否定某一想法或提議等，意為：算了；沒什么。如：

A：Do you still want to go to see him? 你還想去看他嗎?

B：Never mind. 算了，不去了。
