習(xí)慣上后接to do sth和for doing sth的常見名詞

1. authority 權(quán)力

用于authority to do sth，表示“做某事的權(quán)力”。如：

We have the authority to search the building. 我們有權(quán)搜查這座建筑物。

Only the manager has authority to sign cheques. 只有經(jīng)理有權(quán)簽署支票。

有時(shí)也用the authority for doing sth，但不如用authority to do sth普通。如：

What authority have you for entering this house? 你有什么權(quán)力進(jìn)入這座房子?

You don’t have any authority for entering this house. It’s private. 你們沒有任何權(quán)力進(jìn)入這所房子，這是私宅。

2. mood 心情

其后可接不定式或for doing sth，表示“……的心情（心思）”，尤其用于以下結(jié)構(gòu)：

(1) be in no mood for (doing) sth [to do sth] 沒有心情做某事，全然不想做某事。如：

He’s in no mood for telling jokes [to tell jokes]. 他沒心情說笑話。

You kids had better shape up, because I’m in no mood to fool around. 你們這些孩子最好規(guī)矩點(diǎn)，我可不想浪費(fèi)時(shí)間。

(2) be in the mood for (doing) sth [to do sth]（有意做某事）。如：

I’m in the mood for dancing. 我想跳舞。

I’m not in the mood to argue with you. 我沒有心思跟你吵。

3. plan 計(jì)劃

表示做某事的計(jì)劃，其后可接不定式，也可接for doing sth。如：

He has a special plan to make [for making] money. 他有賺錢的特殊辦法。

He told her of his plan to write [for writing] a novel. 他和她談到寫小說的計(jì)劃。

Have you made plans for overcoming [to overcome] the difficulties? 你們制定了克服困難的計(jì)劃了嗎?

4. propensity 傾向，習(xí)性

She has a propensity to exaggerate. 她愛言過其實(shí)。

He seems to have a propensity for breaking things. 他似乎總愛打破東西。

Mr Bint has a propensity to put off decisions to the last minute. 賓特先生習(xí)慣直到最后一刻才做出決定。

5. proposal 建議

表示“做某事的建議”，其后通常接不定式。如：

His proposal to put off the meeting was rejected. 他的延期開會(huì)的提議被否決了。

A competitor made a proposal to buy my business. 一位競爭者提出要購買我的公司。

在現(xiàn)代英語中，也可后接for doing sth。如：

Mother didn’t accept the proposal to move [for moving] house. 母親沒有接受搬家的建議。

6. reason 理由

表示“做某事的原因或理由”，其后可接不定式或for doing sth。如：

You have every reason to fear him. 你有種種理由懼怕他。

We have no reason to disbelieve him. 我們沒有理由不相信他。

Have you any reason for saying such a thing? 你有什么理由說這種話嗎?

His reason for going back to school is to learn new things. 他重回學(xué)校的目的是學(xué)新知識(shí)。

The wonderful weather was our chief reason for coming here. 極好的天氣是我們來這里的主要原因。
