The prisoner is still under examination (=being examined). 囚犯仍在受審。
3. 表示“考試”，還需注意以下幾點:
(1) 表示參加考試，通常用動詞 take, sit (for)，enter (for) 等；表示通過考試或考試及格，通常用動詞 pass； 表示考試沒通過或沒及格，通常用動詞 fail (in)。如：
About 500 students took [sat, sat for] the examination. 大約有五百學(xué)生參加了考試。
Of those who took the exam, only thirty percent passed. 參加考試的人中間，只有百分之三十的人通過了。
Both of them failed (in) the examination. 他們倆人考試都沒有及格。
注：“參加考試”可用動詞 take, 但不用 take part in。如：
不說：I didn’t take part in the exmination.
(2) 表示某一方面的考試，可直接用名詞用定語，也可在其后接介詞 in。如：a maths examination(數(shù)學(xué)考試)，an examination in chemistry(化學(xué)考試)
(3) “高考”或“大學(xué)入學(xué)考試”
