三、考查以特殊句式引出的狀語從句

初中英語中用于引出狀語從句的特殊句式不多，常見的有not…until…（直到……才……）、so…that…（如此……以至……）、such…that…（如此……以至……）等。如：

1. Teresa is _______ nervous _______ she can’t talk in front of the class. (貴州貴陽中考題)

A. such; that        B. too; to                C. so; that              D. very; that

【解析】C�？疾�so…that引出的結果狀語從句。such…that…與so…that…均可引出結果狀語從句，但是such后接名詞，而so后接形容詞或副詞。至于too…to…結構，其中的too后接形容詞或副詞，而to后要接動詞原形。根據句意：特麗莎很緊張以至于不敢在同學面前說話。故選C。

2. The bus driver always says to us, “Don’t get off_______ the bus stops.” (貴州銅仁中考題)

A. when                B. while                 C. until                   D. if

【解析】C。考查not…until…句式的用法，其中的until引導時間狀語從句。句意為：公共汽車司機總是對我們說：“等車停穩后再下車。”又如：Wait until the traffic lights change from red to green. 要等到交通燈由紅變綠再走。

四、以特定語境為切入點，考查從屬連詞的選擇與用法

有的中考英語考題在考查狀語從句時，既不及涉及時態，也不涉及句式等，而是直接以所給語境為背景，直接考查考生對句子意思的理解，即只要考生能讀懂句意，同時能理解所給幾個選項的意思，就可簡單地將選項分別填入句中，選出使句意最通順的答案。如：

1. —What’s your plan for the summer holidays?

—I’ll go to Beijing_______ the school term ends. (安徽中考題)

A. in order that    B. so that               C. as soon as       D. even though

【解析】C。in order that意為“為了”“目的是為了”，so that的意思是“以便”“結果”， as soon as的意思是“一……就”，even though的意思是“即使”。將四個選項分別代入句中，顯然只有C填入空格后句子意最通順。

2. _______ I was in the US, I made a lot of American friends. (四川綿陽中考題)

A. While               B. Although          C. Unless              D. Until

【解析】A。while的意為“當……的時候”，although意為“雖然”，unless意為“除非”，until意為“直到”。根據句意，只有C填入空格意思最通順。句意為：當我在美國的時候，我交了許多朋友。

3. _______ he has little knowledge, the old worker has a lot of experience. (四川樂山中考題)

【解析】A。根據句中的has little與has a lot of可知，前后意思有“相反”的意味，故填although最合適，句意為：這位老工人雖然沒什么知識，但有很豐富的經驗。
