這里的by充當介詞，譯為“被....”
eg:Our world  is obsessed by status, and that causes a lot of hurt.
be obsessed with  癡迷于……
這里的with充當介詞，譯為“因，由于”。
eg:I have a friend who is obsessed with maths.
可見with和by在句子中的意思是不同的，故在這種類似的結構中介詞by 和with是不能互換的。
就拿be surprised by /with...來說，be surprised by 譯為“被嚇了一跳”。
eg：we should not be surprised by the Georgian grab.  我們不該對格魯吉亞的被占領嚇了一跳。
be surprised with 譯為“對……感到驚訝”。
eg：we should not be surprised with  the Georgian grab.  我們不應由于格魯吉亞的被占領感到驚訝。
