狀語和補語的區別，經常弄不清。請參考以下例句

例句一 the car didn't take the boy into the centre of  Paris. 

在句中 into the centre of Paris  在有些資料上被劃分為 表示 take 這個動作導致的結果狀語。  但是個人認為為何不是賓補？  按照補語判定的規則 （1）the boy 和 into the centre 似乎有邏輯上的主謂關系   （2）這個邏輯主謂關系是take 這個動作作用于 the boy 形成的  （3）去掉into the centre 后，感覺take the boy 表達的意思不太清楚。 

請幫忙解答下。

另外，如果確實是作為狀語成份，那 這句  steam boats carry thousands of visitors aross the channel  中的 aross the channel 一樣是表結果的狀語嗎？
