根據 I have something to type. I have a letter to write. He has some clothes to wash. 等相關句式類推，許多同學毫不猶豫地選擇了A答案，但是錯了，最佳答案應是C。確實，在“have+賓語+不定式”結構中，用作定語的不定式通常用主動式表示被動含義，如 I have a letter to write 之類的，按理說其中的 a letter 與其后的不定式 to write 具有被動關系，即“信”應該是“被寫”，但這里卻習慣上用主動式表示這個被動意義。不過同學們還要注意一點，就是這類句型的主語與其后的不定式具有主動關系，如 I have a letter to write. 中的 to write 就是由該句主語 I 來完成的。而上面一題的情形則稍有不同，即其中的 to type 這一動作不是由句子主語 you (在此指 Professor Smith)來完成的，而是由說話者“我”來完成的，句意為“史密斯教授，你有什么文件要我打字嗎？”請再看一例(www.hz123456.com)：

I’m going to Beijing next week. Do you have anything to be taken to your son? 我下個星期要去北京，你有什么東西要帶給你兒子的嗎？

句中的 to be taken 用了被動式而沒用主動式，原因就是“帶”這個動作不是句子主語you 去完成的，而是由說話者“我”來完成的。比較下面的句子：

Are you going to Beijing? Do you have anything to take to your son? 你要去北京嗎？你有什么東西要帶給你兒子嗎？

I’m going to Beijing next week. I have a lot of things to take with me. 下個星期我要去北京，我隨身要帶很多東西去。
