◆given v.，prep. & adj.

1. 用作 give 的過(guò)去分詞，引出過(guò)去分詞短語(yǔ)作狀語(yǔ)，意為“如果有……”，“假定……”等義，此時(shí)要注意其邏輯主語(yǔ)與句子主語(yǔ)保持一致，句子謂語(yǔ)是否用虛擬語(yǔ)氣，要視句子的具體含義而定。如：

Given good weather, our ship will reach there in time. 要是天氣好的話，我們的船可以按時(shí)到達(dá)那兒。

Given the chance, I’d come and see you in London. 如果有機(jī)會(huì)，我就到倫敦來(lái)看你。
