3. 小數的表示法。與漢語一樣，小數點前的數按普通基數詞的讀法讀，小數點后的數按單個數字一一讀出。小數點后的0通常讀作oh，有時也讀作nought或zero，小數點讀作point：one point five six(1.56), ten point three oh five(10.305)

注：被大于“1”的小數修飾的名詞要用復數，如說 1.3 meters，不說1.3 meter；即使是被小于“1”的小數修飾，名詞也通常可以用復數：One centimeter equals 0.3937 inches. 1厘米等于0.3937英寸。

4. 百分數的表示法。百分數由基數詞(或小數)和百分號(%)組成，百分號(%)讀作 per cent：fifteen percent(15%), (zero) point six percent(0.6%)

注：百分數后接名詞時有時用介詞of，有時不用：30% of the students(30%的學生)，a 30% chance(30%的把握)。兩者的區別是：后接介詞of時，percent 為名詞，of表示整體中的部分；不接介詞of時，percent 為形容詞(此時不表示整體與部分的關系)，再比較：6 percent of the interest＝利息中的百分之六，at 6 percent interest＝按百分之六的利息。

四、約數的表示法

1. 大于某數的表示法。可用 more than, over, or more等表示：

more than fifty people 五十多個人     

children of fourteen and over 十四歲和十四歲以上的少年

sixty students or more 六十或六十多個學生

2. 小于某數的表示法。可用less than, under, or less, up to, almost, nearly 等：

It cost me less than 10 pounds. 我買它沒要上10英鎊。

Children under six years old are admitted free. 未滿6歲的兒童可免費入場。

It's nearly [almost] 10 o'clock.. 快兩點了。

The temperature is five degrees below zero. 溫度是零下5度。

3. 大約數的表示法。可用or, or so, about, around, round, some, more or less 等表示：

I'll come back in three or four days. 我過三四天就回來。

We stayed or an hour or so. 我們停留了一個小時左右。

It will cost around (round, about) 100 dollars. 那大概要100美元。

Some 100 people attended the meeting. 大約100參加了會議。

I read more or less forty pages last night. 我昨晚看了大約40頁。

注：要表示“一兩分鐘”這樣的意思，通常用a minute or two 或 one or two minutes，而不用 one minute or two。

四、數詞的句法功能

1. 用作主語：

The second is yours. 第二個是你的。

It’s said that 13 is an unlucky number. 據說13是一個不吉利的數字。

2. 用作表語：

Her father is sixty-five. 她父親65歲。

Two thirds of the apples were bad. 三分之二的蘋果是壞的。

3. 用作賓語：

I know three of them. 他們當中有三個有我認識。

Please give me the third. 請給我第三個。

4. 用作定語：

He has three English dictionaries. 他有三本英語詞典。

The second one is more expensive. 第二個更貴。

The rope is only 2.15 meters long. 這根繩子只有2.15米長。

5. 用作同位語：

Are you two reading? 你們兩人都在看書嗎？

Let us four finish the work. 讓我們四個人完成這工作吧。

Who is that man, the first in the front row? 前排第一個是準？

6. 用作狀語：

I hate riding two on a bike. 我不喜歡騎自行帶人。

Think first, then act. 先想清楚再行動。

We agree with you a hundred percent. 我們百分之百同意你。
