◆anxious adj.

1. 表示“擔(dān)心的”、“焦慮的”，其后通常接介詞 about, for。如：

We’re anxious about [for] her health. 我們擔(dān)心她的健康。

He was anxious for his family, who were traveling abroad. 他擔(dān)心在國外旅行的家人。

2. 表示“熱切的”、“渴望的”，其后通常接介詞 for。如：

I’m anxious for a computer. 我渴望有臺電腦。

注：be anxious for 既可表示“為……擔(dān)心”，也可表示“渴望得到……”，具體含義視語境而定。

3. 表示渴望或想要做某事，其后接不定式。如：

We are anxious to know the result. 我們渴望知道結(jié)果。

注：有時不定式前可以有 for sb。如：

He was anxious for her to marry him. 他渴望她能嫁給他。

4. 有時后接 that 從句，此時從句謂語一般都用“should＋動詞原形”這樣的虛擬語氣。如：

He’s anxious that she (should) come to see him. 他很希望她能來看他。

注：上面也可改成：

He is anxious for her to come to see him.

◆any pron.，adj. & adv.

1. 用作形容詞或代詞，主要用于否定句，疑問句和條件從句，用以代替相應(yīng)肯定句中的 some。如：

There are some letters for you. 有幾封信是你的。

There aren’t any letters for you. 沒有一封信是你的。

Are there any letters for me? 有我的信嗎?

以下幾點須注意：

(1) any 用于否定句，按英語習(xí)慣，它只能出現(xiàn)在否定詞之后，而不能在否定詞之前。如：

任何人都不知道如何做它。

誤：Any one doesn’t know how to do it.

正：No one knows how to do it.

(2) any 有時也可用于肯定句，表示“任何”之意。如：

Take any book you like. 你喜歡哪本書就拿哪本。

Give me a pen --- any pen will do. 給我支鋼筆，哪支都行。

2. any 表示“任何”，指三者或三者以上的任何一個，不能指兩者中的任意一個(指兩者中的任意一個，要用 either)。如：

正：either of my parents 我父親或母親

誤：any of my parents

正：either side of the boat 船的任意一頭

誤：any side of the boat

3. 有時用作副詞，用在比較級之前表示程度( 主要用于否定句或疑問句)。如：

Is he any better? 他好些了嗎?

He was too tired to walk any farther. 他太累了，再也走不動了。

副詞 any 還通常用于習(xí)語 be any good [use] (有任何用處)等。如：

Buy it if it is any good [use]. 如果有用就買了它。
