6. 目的狀語從句及備考說明

目的狀語從句主要由 in order that, so that, in case, for fear從屬連詞引導(dǎo)。如：

I shall sit up for a time, in case I am wanted. 我暫時不睡，以防有事需要我。

We arrived early so that [in order that] we could get good seats. 我們到得早，以便找到好座位。

I bought the car at once for fear (that) he might change his mind. 我馬上買下那輛汽車，以免他變卦。

【備考說明】原則上說以in order that, so that, in case, for fear引導(dǎo)的狀語從句都很重要，都不能輕視，尤其是以in case引導(dǎo)的目的狀語從句，更要引起特別注意。請?jiān)倏磶讉�例句：

I don’t let him climb trees in case he tears his trousers.  我不讓他爬樹，以免撕破褲子。

I always slept by the phone in case he rang during the night. 我總是睡在電話機(jī)旁邊，惟恐他夜間打電話來。

I’ll keep a seat for you in case you should change your mind. 我給你留一個座位，以防你會改變主意。

注：in case除引導(dǎo)目的狀語從句(表示“以防”“以免”)外，還可引導(dǎo)條件狀語從句(表示“如果”“萬一”)，請不要混淆。

7. 結(jié)果狀語從句及備考說明

結(jié)果狀語從句主要由so that, so…that, such…that 等引導(dǎo)。如：

My pencil fell under my desk, so that I couldn’t see it. 我的鉛筆掉到書桌下面去了，因此我看不到它。

My suitcase had become damaged, so that the lid would not stay closed. 我的箱子損壞了，因此蓋子關(guān)不上了。

They are such wonderful players (that) no one can beat them. 他們都是出色的運(yùn)動員，沒有人能戰(zhàn)勝他們。

There was such a lot of rain (that) we couldn’t go out. 下這么大的雨，我們都出不了門了。

【備考說明】請注意so that引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語從句與引導(dǎo)目的狀語從句的區(qū)別（主要從句意上區(qū)分）。

8. 方式狀語從句及備考說明

方式狀語從句主要由as, as if, as though 等引導(dǎo)。如：

I have changed it as you suggest. 我已照你的建議作了改動。

You’re speaking as if you’d never been 15 years old in your life. 你這話說的好像你平生未曾有過15歲。

She closed her eyes as though she were tired too. 她閉上眼睛仿佛她也累了似的。

【備考說明】注意根據(jù)句意確定as if, as though從句是否使用虛擬語氣。

9. 比較狀語從句及備考說明

比較狀語從句主要由 than, as…as, the same…as 等。如：

It is easier than I thought. 這比我想像的更容易。

He is as quick in answering as his sister (is). 他回答得和他妹妹一樣快。

He didn’t sell half as many videos as he thought he would. 他售出的錄像帶還不到他設(shè)想的一半。

【備考說明】備考中請注意so that引導(dǎo)目的狀語從句和結(jié)果狀語從句的區(qū)別。
