陷阱3  混淆that與what的用法

that和what均可引導(dǎo)賓語從句，其區(qū)別是：what可在賓事從句中用作主語、賓語或表語，意為“什么”或“所……的”，而that僅起連接作用，本身沒有實(shí)際意義，在從句中也不充當(dāng)任何句子成分(引導(dǎo)賓語從句時通�？梢允÷�)。如：

He doesn’t know what she likes. 他不知道她喜歡什么。

What you say is quite right. 你所說的相當(dāng)正確。

I believe (that) he will come to see us. 我相信他會來看我們的。

It’s a pity (that) he didn’t finish college. 真遺憾他大學(xué)沒畢業(yè)。

陷阱4  混淆if與whether的用法

whether與 if均可引導(dǎo)賓語從句，表示“是否”，常可互換。如：

He asked if [whether] we wanted a drink. 他問我們是否想喝一杯。

He didn’t tell me if [whether] he would come. 他沒有告訴我他是否會來。

但是，當(dāng)引導(dǎo)條件狀語從句時，只能用 if（意為“如果”）。如：

Don’t tell him if he asks you. 如果他問你不要告訴他。

You must ask if you don’t know. 你不懂就得問。

另外，當(dāng)于用于介詞之后引導(dǎo)賓語從句，也只能用whether，不用if。如：

It depends on whether the letter arrives in time. 這取決于信是否來得及時。

I worry about whether I hurt her feelings. 我擔(dān)心是否傷了她的感情。
