22. purpose 目的

用于the purpose of doing sth，意為“做某事的目的”，尤其見于with the purpose of doing sth，表示“帶著做某事的目的”(D8)或for the purpose of doing sth，表示“為了做某事”。如：

The purpose of going to school is to learn. 上學的目的就是要學習。

The president’s trip will have the purpose of negotiating a peace deal. 總統(tǒng)此行意在協(xié)商一項和平協(xié)議。

There’s no risk of her failing. 她不會有失敗的危險。

24. suspicion 嫌疑

主要用于以下兩個搭配：

(1) 用于on suspicion of doing sth，表示“因涉嫌做某事”。如：
