三、拓展

“否定轉(zhuǎn)移”是英語的常見現(xiàn)象。除此之外，還有下列幾種情況：

1. I’m sorry, but I don’t think I know you. 對不起，我想我不認(rèn)識你。

（not否定賓語從句中的know，類似用法的動詞還有believe, suppose, imagine等）

2. She didn’t take an umbrella because it was raining. 她不是因?yàn)橄掠瓴艓в陚愕摹＃ㄒ驗(yàn)橄掠辏�所以她沒帶雨傘。——講不通）

（not否定原因從句，相當(dāng)于She took an umbrella not because it was raining.）

3. Mary does not seem to like you.瑪麗看起來不喜歡你。

（not 否定不定式like，相當(dāng)于Mary seems not to like you.）

4. They didn’t come by train.他們不是坐火車來的。

（not否定介詞短語by train，相當(dāng)于They came not by train.）

5. I don’t find the story interesting.我發(fā)現(xiàn)故事沒有趣。

（not否定賓語補(bǔ)足語interesting，相當(dāng)于I find the story not interesting.）

6. ---What did you think of the film last night? ---It couldn’t be better.

“你認(rèn)為昨晚的電影怎么樣？”--- “好極了。”

（couldn’t是“不可能”，better是“更好”。“不可能更好”意味著“再好不過了”。當(dāng)can’t 或couldn’t 跟比較級連用時，它們并沒有否定謂語動詞，而是否定了“比較級”，因而更加重了肯定的含義。又如：I can’t agree more. 我再同意不過了。）

7. I can’t thank you enough. 我對你真是感激不盡。

（not否定enough，意味著“感激不夠”，又如：We couldn’t enjoy your meal enough. 你做的飯我們喜歡不夠。）　

8. We can’t praise the novel too highly. 這部小說我們怎么贊揚(yáng)都不過分。

（not否定too highly，意味著“贊揚(yáng)的程度不過分”。）
