例如在中學英語教學中流傳著這樣一個“美麗的錯誤”: 英語輔導社之《英語考試向導》1997年第2期p7:I heard she was singing in English.→I heard her singing in English. P32: I heard that some children sang some songs.(改為簡單句) →I heard some children sing some songs. 豈不知這兩個句型中hear的意思在英語完全不同:《牛津高階英語詞典》(第7版) (商務印書館 hear后接 that從句時,意為to be aware of sounds with your ears. hear后接賓語+不帶to不定式(v-ing形式) 時,意為to be told about sth. 根據John Sinclair主編的COLLINS COBUILD GRAMMAR PATTERNS1:VERBS (上海外語教育出版社 2000年11月第1版) p103: Some verbs can have should or a subjunctive in the that-clause. They are concerned with statements or requests that something should be done. 1. accept (1) to believe that sth is true [v that] I accept that this will not be popular.
