A：“Where is it?” he whispered.
B：“Where is ______?”, she whispered.

此題應(yīng)選B。容易誤選A, D。對于此題有的考生首先就排除了選B, C, 其理由是“疑問詞”只能出現(xiàn)在句首位置。
其實(shí)疑問詞出現(xiàn)在句中甚至句末是完全可能的, 但這多半是有特殊的語境或使用的句式比較特殊。本題選 B(what)的原因是：上句問 Where is it?(它在什么地方), 但聽話人對此句中代詞it指代什么東西并不清楚, 所以她反問 Whereis what?(什么在什么地方?)
這類用法在口語中經(jīng)常使用：
1. —We are ready. Let’s begin. 我們準(zhǔn)備好了, 開始 吧。
—Ready for what? 準(zhǔn)備干什么?
2. —What are you going to do next fall? 下一個秋 季打算要干什么?
—Next what? 你說下一個什么?

4. —How can we finish it? 我們怎樣才能完成它?
—How can we finish what? 我們怎樣完成什么?
5. It was so dark I couldn’t tell who was who. 當(dāng)時一片漆黑, 我分不清哪個是哪個。
6. They look exactly the same, and I really don’tknow which is which. 它們看起來一模一樣, 我實(shí)在分不清哪個是哪個。
30. 這個疑問詞的選擇與答句有關(guān)
—______ is her husband?
—The man standing by the window, wearing a blue jacket.
A. Who B. What C. Which D. Where
此題應(yīng)選C。其它三項(xiàng)均容易被誤選, 尤其是選項(xiàng)D, 因?yàn)橄挛牡拇鹫Z中出現(xiàn)了表示地點(diǎn)的介詞短語。
此題選C(which), 完全依語境確定：
—哪個(which)是她的丈夫?
—站在窗子邊, 穿藍(lán)色夾克衣的那個(人是她的丈夫)。
事實(shí)上只要改變上文, 其它幾個選項(xiàng)是完全可能的：
