2. THE “THINK” AND “DISCOVER” GROUP

These verbs are concerned with what is thought. This includes something that is:

• expected, hoped, or feared

• thought or intended

• remembered or forgotten

• known or suspected

• discovered

(1) be accepted公認可接受；認可

At some point it was accepted that we are not all bad guys.

(2) be anticipated 預料；預期

It was anticipated that many Navajo Indian children would have to be interviewed.

(3) be assumed 假設；假定

In general, it is assumed that acts or threats of violence are typically directed against other participants in the criminal marketplace.

(4) be believed 認為；料想

It was believed that the winner was favored by the gods, and so brought honor and glory to his village.
