1. 表示“以后”、“后來”，可用于過去或?qū)�來。如�?/SPAN>

We’ll discuss the matter later on. 我們以后將討論這件事。

◆lead v.

用作動(dòng)詞，主要表示“帶領(lǐng)”、“引導(dǎo)”、“領(lǐng)導(dǎo)”、“導(dǎo)致”等，使用時(shí)注意以下句型和結(jié)構(gòu)：

1. 表示把某人帶到或領(lǐng)到某地，通常用“lead＋sb＋介詞短詞或副詞”結(jié)構(gòu)。如：

He led the guests into his room. 他把客人帶到了自己的房間。

A local peasant led the soldiers through the forest. 一位當(dāng)?shù)氐霓r(nóng)民領(lǐng)著士兵們穿過森林。

注：漢語說“引路”，英語可直譯為 lead the way。

2. 表示使(導(dǎo)致)某人做某事(有時(shí)含有誤導(dǎo)之意)，通常用 lead sb to (do) sth。如：

What led you to this conclusion? 你是怎么得出這個(gè)結(jié)論的?

He led me to believe that he had a lot of influence. 他讓我相信他很有影響力。

Her constant lying led me to distrust everything shesaid. 他經(jīng)常撒謊，我完全不相信她的話了。

注：lead to 表示“導(dǎo)致(某種結(jié)果)”。如：(www.hz123456.com)

Smoking cigarettes leads to lung disease. 抽煙會(huì)導(dǎo)致肺部疾病。

3. 表示領(lǐng)導(dǎo)或帶領(lǐng)某人做某事，通常用 lead sb in (doing) sth。如：

Our Party leads us in building socialism. / Our Partyleads us in the building of socialism. 黨領(lǐng)導(dǎo)我們建設(shè)社會(huì)主義。

He’ll lead the party of scientists (in) going to Paris. 他將帶領(lǐng)這些科學(xué)家去巴黎。

注：表示以上含義時(shí)，有時(shí)也可用 lead sb to do sth, 但因有不少人反對這樣用，建議學(xué)生不要仿用。

4. 表示過著某種生活，一般用 lead a……life。如：

She led a rather hard life. 她當(dāng)時(shí)過著相當(dāng)艱苦的生活。

He decided to lead a new life. 他決定要過新生活。

5. 表示通向某地，一般用 lead to。如：

All roads lead to Rome. 條條道路通羅馬。

This road leads to wealth. 這是一條致富路。

比較：This door leads into the garden. 此門通往花園。

◆leave v.

1. 表示“離開”，注意以下用法:

(1) 表示離開某地，leave 為及物動(dòng)詞，后面可直接跟表示地點(diǎn)的名詞，不要按漢語習(xí)慣在其后用 from 或 off。如：

誤：He left from [off] China in 1995.

正：He left China in 1995. 他于1995年離開中國。

另外，漢語說“離開”，英語用 leave就行了，不要將其直譯為leave away。

(2) 表示離開去某地，其后一般接介詞 for(通常不用to)，表示方向。如：

He left for Paris last month. 他上個(gè)月動(dòng)身去巴黎了。

The plane leaves Heathrow for Orly at 12. 35. 飛機(jī)于12點(diǎn)35分離開希思羅機(jī)場飛往奧利。

2. 表示“留下”，注意帶雙賓語的用法:

(1) 表示給某人留下某物(若雙賓語交換位置，用介詞 for)。如：

The left me no food. / They left no food for me. 他們沒有給我留下食物。

Someone left you this note. / Someone left this note foryou. 有人給你留下了這張條子。

(2) 表示某人死后留下某物(若雙賓語交換位置，用介詞 to)。如：

My aunt left me a large fortune. / My aunt left a largefortune to me. 我姑媽死后給我留下一大筆財(cái)產(chǎn)。
